Default ? for Brain Trust

Just back from a nice 2700 mile thunder run, finally have 5 k on new HQ 107 motor. Rode up the east coast, Miami to DC then across top of Va, down the BR mountains, rode SE Tenn for a day, then back to Miami at speed. Weather was wet and frikken cooooold.

Now the ?

I get a pinging at 3100 RPM in 6th gear, slight roll on throttle. Is this timing or is it AFR? Its pretty bad too.

My banjo bolts on the AC backed out and fell off the bike, should I red loktite them in?

My cruise control will not set at 90 MPH, is this normal?

Cruise will work between 45-85 mph; it won't set at 90 mph. I believe this is in the owner's manual.

Without knowing how much advance is in the ECM when you get pinging, can't say whether the pinging is due to lack of fuel or too much timing advance. You can retard the timing 3-5* where you have pinging and that should get rid of the pinging.

What kind of mpg did you get while cruising? It should be over 40 mpg if you got a decent tune for riding, and not just a WOT tune for the dyno sheet.

I can only answer the last question. The HD cruise control has an upper and lower speed at which it can't operate outside of. The upper limit is 85 mph I believe.

Okay, thanks on the cruise control answer, I get 42 -48 cruising at 70 but I live in fla so most cruising at 75 - 90, the mpg gets down to 35 at 85 90 MPH.

The bike was just dyno'd and it stays tuned between services. Its just the 3100 rpm area, think it might be a timing issue, will take it to the dealer and discuss with them.

take it back to your tuner! its either timing, fuel or too much compression for the fuel thats available..

run some lucas octane booster, it will fix your problem untl you can fix the cause

Correct me if I am wrong but I think the banjo bolts being loose or missing will create a vacuum leak. This would cause a lean condition that would cause the spark knock.
