Don't know if this helps to solve this question but I just wanted to throw this in.

And oh yes, I really do like the low end and mid range torque that I gained with these!
Me too alot

I was just looking at the box my new SE255 cams came in and it has a Caution Sticker that says that these parts my not be used for public roads. Race only, not for use on emission controlled vehicles.

Hummmm...... CVO are used on public roads, and are emission controlled, Strange!

The fella told me this today after we were discussing my wanting to install the SE255 with a 103 kit. He is also thinking hard about this upgrade to his 09 SG. He said he has not been able to verify it, but has heard about the CVO255's being slightly different than SE255's for oem emission requirements. He told me that the early closing of the 255's will raise cold cranking compression. He said he is concerned with hot starts, which I am also.

Save the money. if you just want sound and a little um in 1st and 2nd gear just get SE211 cams.

It doesn't make sense sometimes. I think that they are EPA compliant in certain configurations, but just to throw them into a motor *****-nilly doesn't meet EPA standards. From the 2010 SE catalogue:

SE-255 CAM KIT
The ultimate in torque cams, this cam offers substantial
increased in low end torque for engines up to 110 cubic
inches with compression ratios up to 10 to 1. The low end
torque increases are great for heavy bikes or for the person
who routinely shifts below 4500 rpm and wants the power
available to pass without downshifting. The cam still makes
peak power above 5000 rpm so people with lighter bikes will
enjoy the torque increases without feeling like the bike runs
out of air at higher engines speeds. These cams are used in
the ’07 and later street legal 1690 Stage II kits and the 110
Stage Kits. Compression releases may be required depending

on displacement and compression ratio.
For race application
only.
25638-07 $299.95
Fits ’06-later Dyna, and ’07-later Softail and
Touring models.

Continued at top of next page.

Aw - sounds like a bunch of bs to me. You certainly can't tell anything from what Harley sticks on the box concerning race app only. I'll wager 10 to 1 that the CVO cams are the same. Anyone got the CVE parts catalog? Let's look up the part number . . .

Mine are OEM pull outs and Im 82hp with 100tq. Bike pulls real nice and a very noticable power differance.
