Call Scott at Hillside, just got a set of Wiseco and stage III Heads CC's to match the Wiseco, which is my opinion the best there si out there. You can buy the pistons and get the boring done to your cylinder at your local machine shop.
Is 98" better than 95"....bigger is better ????
Whats the advantage to a 98" big bore over the 95"....except for the obvious.....anytning else to be aware of...w the 98"...from a stock 88"..thanks
For me and my build, it would give me a small boost in compression ratio..........which is what I wanted to accomplish. It's also 3 cubic inches bigger, but that doesn't make a huge difference.
There is a big difference in cost due to the price of the pistons available. For a 95" build, you can use SE pistons for about $150 a pair. For a 98" build, you have to use Wiseco or JE or CP pistons which cost about $450 + a pair. The boring of the cylinders is still the same cost, about $150.

FOUND THIS ON EBAY ??...WHAT YA THINK...BOLT ON AND GO..??OR WOULD I HAVE TO DO OTHER THINGS ??? Harley Big Bore Kit 98" Twin Cam 1999 - 2006 This kit will give you a choice of compression ratio's of 9.8:1 or 10.5:1 with stock cylinder heads. Please let us know what comp. ratio you would like and what type of heads you are using when you place your order.
These are low milage seasoned cylinders that are bored and honed to 3.937" (+ or - .0002") This Kit includes Harley cylinders, CP Flat Top Pistons, rings, wrist pins, clips, Genuine James Head gaskets and base "O" rings
Bigger is better. This kit increases displacement of the Twin Cam 88 (1450) models to produce 98 cubic inches with stock flywheels. Sold in pairs, these cylinders require no crankcase machining and are finished honed for standard size 3.937" pistons. All EFI models require ECM calibration
Fits '99 - '06 Twin Cam-equipped models.
Black or Natural Highlighted. $519.99 FREE SHIPPING (to lower 48) We can custom size the cylinders for you if needed at no additional cost. Call or email with questions We accept postal money order, business check, personal check or Paypal Payment must clear before we ship and we will only ship to a confirmed address
It's impossible for them to say what your compression ration would be at without measuring the combustion chambers of your heads. All chambers are slightly different, so to say you would be at 10.5:1 is only a guess.
Looks like a good price overall since you won't have any downtime waiting for your cylinders to be bored.
