Does CP make a 98" flattop piston set with good sized valve pockets?

Basically what I want to do is get a set of pistions, have Bean bore my cylinders for them, put it back together, and let Bean tweak my map to match.

Steve:

Didn't see the 98's on CP's site; noticed Hillside promoting Wiseco's here:

Call Scott at Hillside, just got a set of Wiseco and stage III Heads CC's to match the Wiseco, which is my opinion the best there si out there. You can buy the pistons and get the boring done to your cylinder at your local machine shop.

For me and my build, it would give me a small boost in compression ratio..........which is what I wanted to accomplish. It's also 3 cubic inches bigger, but that doesn't make a huge difference.

There is a big difference in cost due to the price of the pistons available. For a 95" build, you can use SE pistons for about $150 a pair. For a 98" build, you have to use Wiseco or JE or CP pistons which cost about $450 + a pair. The boring of the cylinders is still the same cost, about $150.

It's impossible for them to say what your compression ration would be at without measuring the combustion chambers of your heads. All chambers are slightly different, so to say you would be at 10.5:1 is only a guess.

Looks like a good price overall since you won't have any downtime waiting for your cylinders to be bored.

CP or Wiesco gets the vote. As others said, I think Scott at Hillside has them.
