Default Heat pads

Have any of you used those heat packs you get in the sports stores that last about 3 hours? I live in MN and am a Patriot Guard Rider. I have a mission next Monday to attend the funeral of one of our soldiers that died in the Ft Hood shootings.

Monday temps are supposed to start about 26 and get to about 40 degrees early afternoon. The funeral is at Ft Snelling, about 75 miles north, highway miles at about 70 mph. I know I can keep my body warm, but 32 and below, my fingers start hurting so bad, I can barely ride. I don't have heated gloves or grips, so was thinking of trying these heat packs.

Do you put them on your palms or the top of the hand? Will they keep the fingers warm?

Thanks.

LOL
Couple years ago coming back from Chicago with a buddy of mine...cold as hell!
We hit Walmart, I bought some and shoved them inside my gloves, backside of my hand.
My buddy follows my lead, does the same thing.
Back to the interstate we go.
15 miles down the road he pulls to the shoulder...THROWING his gloves off his hands!
Damn things burnt him!
I had no probs.

DAMN that was funny!!!

Those things should help you out. The wife uses them from time to time. I would recommend using some welding gloves fitted over some thin gloves. Welding gloves are heavily insulated and can be bought cheap. Hippo hands may also be an option. Hope this helps.

Ordered these yesterday for the same reason. No idea if they'll work, but cheap enough to try.

I would recommend not using them directly against the skin, Go to the local Cycle gear or other MC shop and get you some silk or thin inner glove liners and put them on first..they do work...I have lectric gloves but alway have these as a back up in my saddle bags..I have been a hero at times when i pulled those out for somebody freezing their hands off...They make them for the toes and in a insole size too....

I use them when it gets into the 30's. I wear a shirt with two pockets and put one in each pocket. keeps my core temp up. I have electric gloves for my hands.
