Auto parts store for around 5-7 bucks. A short rubber one. I tried that, but ended up cutting my original antenna down to about 7", and have no reception problems.
If you install an internal antenna and do it yourself, and you've never removed your fairing cover, here's a tip. Keep the top center bolt in place after you've removed all other bolts. Then hold the fairing cover in place while you remove the center bolt.
A lot of guys, including me, have removed all the bolts only to have the fairing cover pop loose and land on the front fender. I'll never make that mistake again. I got lucky and only broke the headlight bulb, but I've read of dents, scratches, etc.
BTW, I like the look of no antenna and recepton is just as good.
I bought a set of the small rubber ones also, but didnt get the best reception so I chopped mine down as well.
I bought the rubber ones about a month ago for $16.00 on Ebay, if you want them, you can have them for $10.00
No, my neighbor is a CB/HAM radio geek and he has a tuner and just adjusted the output.
Seems to work fine, we tested it and still reaches 2 to 3 miles away as we could talk from the bike to his house.
Still have not been able to nail down Sabin to finish my bike, I asked him to send me the New PCIII so Ican upload a MAP Power Commander sent me and try that.
