Read a few posts about problems with flush mounted axles gaulding up. They where older posts, whats the consenses now. Any problems getting the axle out, would you use it again? Whats a good one to use?

TO ME, I like the looks but once one of the end caps "bites" into the fork and sinks down when tightened......it's on there FOREVER. I put a flush mount axle on when I had the pre-chromed fork legs, and when it came time to move the axle to my chrome fork legs, the axle comes out with ease, but the end cap wouldn't come out. I gave up after beating the crap out of it and ruining my OEM fork leg.
The key is do the Flush mount axle and chrome fork legs simultaneously IMO.
If you feel you gotta have one, look on e-bay for Mike Correll. He's a member here too as well and has the best prices if you ask me.
I installed the FBI flush axel and end cap when I installed the chrome lower legs. Looks great and havent had one issue. Even had HD replace the tires under warrenty and they didn't have a problem at all.
http://www.nativecustombaggers.com/products.php i have been using these without any problems, i think they look great for $99, especially compared to an axle nut cover , its alot cleaner look
Forum member Mike Correll, AKA "Puzzled"...is your hookup for the flush mount axle and the Bad As Hell axle cap.
I will caution all of you guys of one thing...
Should you ever need to rebuild your forks, you have to drive the left axle cap out to get to the dampener rod bolt...and that's a bitch.
I run the flush mount axle on my '06 SG.
I put a Diamond Engineering 12pt polished stainless axle on my '09 RG.
