Well guys....the Harley rep will be in contact with me next week. We are talking buyback for sure now. The MOCO wants him to evaluate my ongoing vibration and radio issues, but the rep is ready to repurchase. He knows just how much aggravation I have been dealing with.
Herein lies the dilemma. I dont really know if these really are my options, but in talking with the rep, I think these are the things that might be on the table....
IF, and it is still an "If" they decide to repurchase my '06 Road Glide, what will I replace it with?
You can see by my signature pic just how I have my bike set up. Touring all the way.
1st - It has to be black.....or does it? No weird colors anyway.....
2nd - Considering how my bike is set up, would an Electra Glide Ultra be a good replacement?
3rd - If I decide to go batwing, what about paying a little difference and going SEEGUC?
4th - As much as I like the bike I have now, do I just get the same exact thing?
I have ridden the EG. It feels quite different to me than the fixed fairing of the RG. My only fear is that if I go to the batwing, I hope I do not regret it. One of those situations where the bike I have is perfect, but sometimes change is good......isn't it? Decisions, decisions. I have always loved the timeless look of the batwing fairing, I just think that the sharknose handles better.
I must say I love the EGC. I don't think I could handle my fairing not turning with me. That said, the Moco might buy back your bike even after you modded it with pipes and such? They won't blame any vibrations on that issue will they?

The MoCo might, but the rep is real world. He knows better. One of the nicest people I have EVER dealt with.
I am 6'4" & love the batwing on my Street Glide. The SEEGUC is more than a little more! A lot more, but if you have the $$$ they are beautiful machines. At 1pm today, you will be able to see them!!!
Good luck with your decision. Don't sweat it, you will probably be happy with either.
Sounds to me like your heart of hearts is with the EG. But then again, you put so much into the RG I might also get the impression that you have fine tuned your preferences to what you now have. I say go for the EG, but of course I am a bit prejudiced.
