I think I'm gonna buy a C&C seat for my Road King. I've done some searches on here, but the results are scattered and it's a pain to go through all the various posts to find what I'm looking for.
Can you guys post some pics of your bikes and comment on how you like the C&C seat? I'm interested in the solo seat, and the sport tour. Maybe the fastback as well. I'm going for comfort, and looks.
I'm also very interested in what your wives or girlfriends think of the passenger area of the sport tour. I'm not sure if I want to go with the solo, so if I go with a pillion, it needs to be a huge improvement over the stock one. I have a comfort stitch that the wife loves because of the huge passenger area, but I can't stand it because of the position it puts me in. And it looks like a big old couch turd, which isn't what I want for local riding. I plan to have it altered later, for when we go on long trips, but I'd like to have something she can live with around town in the meantime, that still looks good and is comfortable for numero uno.....
If you have the driver's backrest, what do you think of it? Is it worth the money? Is it adjustable at all?
Also, I seem to recall reading somewhere on here, that C&C gives a discount for forum members. Is that still the case? And how long after ordering did it take for you to recieve your seat?
I'll likely call them tomorrow, but I figured you guys could fill me in on everything before then, as well as give me your opinions.
I love mine. I have had Corbin, but I love C&C. They do give you a discount, talk to Chuck. Mine was custom made. I ordered it on a Saturday and it was at my house in a week. I have the back rest and it is not adjustable. I like it, however it does put you forward a little.
What was custom about yours? Did you have them adjust your postion or something?
Technically they are all custom made for you. They don't have any just sitting around. You tell them what you want, material, style, etc and they make it.
Love my fastback. Very comfortable. Definitely buy the backrest, its very nice on long rides. Wife can't ride on the seat more than a short hop. I switch to a Sundowner when she rides with me but I would say 80% of my riding is solo. My album has some pics.
I have a Squareback on the Night Train. Quality seat, took forever to break in, but it's nearly as comfortable as the Sundowner I have. The daughter hates the back seat, the wife loves it.
I tried the solo for 4 days and couldn't get used to it at all. but C&C is a great company to deal with. Chuck took the seat back 15% restocking charge. Now have Corbin solo setup..
