Saw two riders today tooling down the highway between 80-85mph. They passed me - I was doing 79mph in a cage. Outside temp was 20 degrees F - equivalent windchill at 80mph = - 9 degrees F.
That is a little too cold for my blood. Don't know how they could do that.
Went to a meeting a week or so ago, the temp was 29 when I left on the bike then I ran into some fog and that started to freeze with the wind chill. I had a 1/4 to 1/2" of ice on the mirrors and fairing when I pulled over to check the road to make sure it was safe. The ice started to melt as soon as I stoped so I knew I was ok but I'll tell you it was kind of freaky. never got to cold other than my hands.
Rode today in the 32nd Toys for Tots motorcycle parade in Chicago, when I left the house temp was 23 degrees.
There were 12 to 15,000 other bikers there with me for the 20 mile ride!!
I got off of mine at 32 degrees last night. I didn't think It was that cold but the Glide took it in stride, and so did I. This is my first bike with a fairing.
26 degrees at my house yesterday when I left for our toy run. Quickly warmed up to almost 30 by 10am. By the time our ride started at 1 pm, it was a very pleasant 40 degrees.
The 40 mile-long ride down early in the morning, and the ride home after dark was fairly cold. My riding buddy has heated riding gear which he loves. (and needs, he doesn't have a windshield). With my fairing, lowers and a proper windshield, the wind isn't so much a factor. You need good gloves, and to dress sensibly. I took a pair of long johns to wear under my jeans and chaps, but didn't wear them. If my ride home would have been much longer, I would have stopped and put them on.
I took off my 5" windshield and put on a 8" clearview with recurve. That was a key move.
... was out yesterday afternoon, just before the sun went down. Was about 30 when I left. Less when i came back. Nice ride actually. Heard one other scooter on the road as I was packing up @ Home Depot.

That fairing makes a huge difference! God, I loved my Ultra. I've ridden down around the freezing point many times, but I like to call it a day when I feel the needles in my legs.
