Default Road Glide

I'm thinking about buying a Klock Werk windshield for my 2010 Road Glide. Can anyone give me feedback on how this windshield perform?

I can't comment about the Klock Werks shield, but take a look at Cee Bailey shields, I love mine.

sonar chris - how tall is that cee bailey's and do you get any wind buffeting at highway speeds? how tall are you?

malonesonny - what are you going with the Klockwerks shield? Looks/style or function?

I have the 16" SSC Dome shield. I'm 6' tall with a 31" inseam. Every now and then in gusty winds I will get the slightest bit of buffeting. If I had it to do all over again I would have gotten the 17" shield. Cee Bailey height recommendations are right on if you don't wear a helmet. I wear a DOT helmet that makes me about 3/4" taller so I catch just a little wind to the top of my helmet, but nothing serious. I love the shield, and for the RG I would never own anything different. As you can see in the picture below, almost my entire head is above the shield.

thanks chris. my bike came with what appears to be a 12" klockwerks windshield (no markings on it, but it sort of looks like a low cee bailey's come to think of it ) and with my dot helmet, i got a ton of buffetting. it looked smokin' hot, but I was miserable. picked up a stock one and it was much better. then i got a deal on a used clearview 17" (i think) and it's staying on for good. but this cee bailey has got me interested.

Chris,
Is that windshield clear or tinted. If it's tinted, what type (smoke, grey, etc. ) and how is it for looking through. Thanks.

I tried a 12" Klockwerks on mine.......looked way cool, but the wind blast and buffeting was TERRIBLE! I now have a 15" Cee Bailey Euro, much better, but even at 5'10" it's too short; think I could go to 17" as previous poster mentioned, as I have a Mustang Touring seat on mine and it sits me up a bit higher than stock RG seat. I think KW now has a touring shield, at/about 16", which works pretty well, but I was looking right at the top of it when I took a quick test ride on the owner's RG.

I have tried the 8", 12" and 16" Klock Werks shields and I stand 5'11" with a 32" inseam. My opinions on each.....

8"-by far looks the best but not for much protection. This is the one that I use for most of my daily driving though. It works good for around town and some light highway but you do get a ton of wind noise. I tend to like this one for the nice weather because I actually enjoy having wind in my face but this is also coming from someone who never had a windshield before. I have done a 300 mile highway trip with this on and do have to say that I did not get any wind buffetting at all just wind noise.

12"-Overall good design. Decent looks and you can see over it without any problem. You do get some wind but it is a "clean" wind. Great on the highway and mild to cool temps. Once again no buffeting.

16"-Great protection but it is about a half an inch to tall for me so I have to sit straight up to see over it otherwise the top is just in my line of sight and screws me up. But for day driving in the cold or rainy/snowy weather this works the best. I have the smoked one and you do have trouble seeing through it at night but the wind protection is great. I used this on a 25 degree night with a beanie helmet and no facemask and have to say that my face was not frozen when I got home. As for looks, well for me, that leaves something to be desired. I set my bikes up custom so it does not fit the look but during the winter I don't care about looks it all comes down to function.

So to sum it up, the 8" works great for looks and around town driving in summer months, the 12" works for highway driving in the summer months and the 16" works great in bad weather. Overall, I would probably go with the 12" just wish they had a gradient setup on it where it went from black up to smoke on the top for both the 12 and 16" then I don't think I would mind either.

I tried the 12" Klock Werks, and it looked great and was satisfactory around town. But out on tour, it was way too loud (rushing wind along the sides of the helmet) and too much buffeting. I eventually replaced it.

Cool 12" Klock Werks

I have the 12" Klock Werks...I am 6'4" with 34" inseams! Ride with DOT 3/4 helmet and LOVE IT, faster you go, the less buffeting I've found...that's my opinion and I am sticking with it.
