I installed my oil gauge last spring. The latest version of the HD oil temp gauge came with everything you need so you don't have to run down to the auto parts store to buy an adapter. There are a few good tips floating around on the forum to make installation easy. Feel free to PM.

Thank you all for your help and advice. I ordered my new oil temp. guage (75265-04A) tonite on-line. Found Chicago HD to be the cheapest at $123.96 shipping included. Zanotti ran a close second at 126.30. Because I have ordered a ton of stuff from Chicago HD and never had a problem, I decided to give them the business.
Thanks again!

you guys that say to put it in the spare plug in the oil pan that is not just a spare plug
it is a clean out for the casting sand when they cast the pan. It is in the oil pickup
passage for the oil pump. that is why you have to have a adapter so that you dont
put the sender it far enough to block off the oil. that would destroy your engine real quick

I just keep riding!! The gauge loses accuracy the higher it gets..when it is reading 300* on the gauge the actual oil temp is around 270*. I run good quality synthetic oil so don't worry abuot it too much anymore.

So you're saying the gauge will actually "peg out" at times? Really? That concerns me especially since I just ordered one today from Chicago HD.

Have one, but never gets above 230 degrees - typically sits right around 180 (the thermostat rating on my oil cooler).

Just curious, how did you verify that the temperature gauge was off by 30 degrees?
