I have the HD Ventilator and it drips a lot of oil. After a days ride the entire bottom of the filter is soaked and I have to clean it. I'm was going to move over to Doherty but if PM has a cure for their oil issue....I'll get the matching AC for my PM rims.

For those that don't ride hard, you will not have an oil issue unless you overfill the case.

I have the ventilator and really appreciate the low profile, high quality chrome, and performance. The RSD is a very fine piece of functional art and a very good choice as well. Especially if you want to buy the PM wheels to match. One more thing: The Ventilator will hide the Throttle Body Electrical Plug better than the RSD.

Does the Roland Sands not hide the throttle body plug well? Any close up pics?

The thing that sold me on the Doherty was the ability to route the blow by oil out of the intake. The RSD and the HD pieces use tubing routed back into the throttle body making you EPA compliant, but burns oil like a 2 stroke = poor performance.

I went with the Roland Sands and haven't looked back. Looks excellent.

I have a Doherty on my Night Train with the Power Vents. In looking at Doherty's website, the TBW bikes can't use the Power Vents. Can you post a pic of (or explain) how you've got your oil routed out?

spoke with RSD (aka PM) today and told them I ordered their aircleaner. Told them I didn't even have it yet but they're sending out the re-fit for the oil blow by problem even without knowing if the one I ordered had it or not. I think that's pretty good customer service. Sure there is an apparent problem with some. They've addressed that and I just call and out the door one is being sent. No charge for part or shipping.

Why yes I can. I used an S&S crossover breather tube. You could use a "T" connection, but I used the S&S for cleaness. Anyway, I put it on so that the down tube was off of the front cylinder so it missed the TBW module. Then I took some 3/8'' fuel hose, routed it down and around the rear cylinder side of the baseplate, up over the rear rockerbox and back throught the frame (where the fuel overflow line is) and down to the ground.

After reading this, it sounds a little Jed Clampitt, but it really isn't. I'll get a few pictures and post them up.

I too have the RSD Speed Five. I wipe oil off the bottom of the filter before and after each ride. It's not much but enough to make a mess on the right bag. I'll check into the fix.
