The actual PC-V failure rate is far less than 1%, we have seen more of an issue with the OEM ECM connector. I recommend checking the ECM/PC connector, paying close attention to the main ECM ground which is the "large" pin in the connector. Give the male pin a slight adjustment so when it is plugged together it is under slight tension which will ensure a good ground. That would be a good start
reset your throttle. Turn the bike off and let it cycle the yellow engine light off. Turn it off and cycle it again a total of three times. Sounds like the computer has your throttle (tps) sensor setting off. Happens if you happen to have and throttle opening when bike is shut off.

This procedure above works to reset idle settings when it runs high. I had the high idle issue before I installed my PC V. Even after installing the PC V I still get the high idle issue from time to time.
I have 10,000 mi on my PC V. No issues and I am very happy with it.
OK, the first power commander was bad out of the box, I got a whopping 80 miles out of the second one. anybody else had a problem with this product, thinking about scrapping it and going to the SERT. any thoughts?
I sell them and you can get a few that are bad. But it eletronics anything can happen I have seen on serts the black box go bad. And have seen the ecm lock up right after a dealer has tuned them or put a down load into them. And not warranty the ecm.
Call dyno jet they will take care of you.
And I agree with Jamie>>>> he knows the power commanders inside and out.

I agree. Mine (PCV)went bad but I never thought for a second that it was because it was a bad product. I knew the failure rate was very low on them and I would get a new replacement that would work fine. My bike runs great now.
