I have the opportunity to buy a 06 Road Glide for a pretty good deal. This is definitely a project bike (which is ok, because I have been looking for a project for a while now), and one of the things which needs the most work is the front end. In all actuality, the bike is pretty stripped down, and looks more like a battle axe... But I see a lot of promise...
Before I commit a lot of money and time into the bike, I wanted to know if it was possible to put a "non-fairing" front end on the bike. The fairing which comes stock has never been my style (my tastes are much more simple), and I just wanted to make sure that i could actually put something simple on the front.
(fyi: this is my first post, and am more accustomed to working on cars than motorcycles... so take it easy on the rookie)
You mean like making the front end like a Road King with just a windshield? Yes you can as the touring frames are all the same. You would need to change out interconnects as the road glide would have different wiring for all the gauges and radio and whatnot.
