Discriminatory?

Discriminatory?
My company just posted a ban on the use of motorcycles in travl related to company events; they based this against work comp law and to "protect' themselves against loss and are set to discipline accordingly. We as riders at work see this as a pre-ban move to stop us from riding at all to work or on our own time. Anyone else have this rule at work? We are challenging it.

Their company, their rules. That the great thing about America, if you don't like it you can quit or even better yet start your own company. Course the "American Way" now is to sue.

So if I understand correctly...the company is banning in relation to company related EVENTS??? I.E. traveling for work??? Don't know about anyone else but just about anyone I have ever worked for required that if we were traveling on company business that we fly, or if it is a short trip then use a rental car. While using your personal vehicle isn't exclusively prohited (at least the company I work for now, but others have had policy where use of personal vehicles for company travel was prohibted)...you better have a good reason why you couldn't rent a car instead...especially since they give us corporate credit cards and premier membership into virtually all the car rental agencies. I am sure them paying 50 cents + a mile doesn't help, but it is mainly for insurance purposes.
On the other hand...if they say you can't ride whatever you want back and forth to work...that is another matter entirely...and I am sure they would find themselves on the losing end of a lawsuit or have to provide company funded transportation for their employees.
