Question Detach Question

OK, decided to go with solo seat, tourpac mounted close to seat....But, you all have a ton of money invested in detachable mounts with backrests or tourpacs mounted...
My question is how do you prevent theft while traveling??? being that it's easy to remove and store, wouldn't it also be easy to remove and steal???

Don't want to come out from motel or store and find my tourpac gone....
is there some type of locking device? Has someone come up with something simular to the saddlebags?

Thanks

There may be by now, but I rode for years with one , and it was always on my bike the next morning. I think some sort of locking sytem is just going to garranty your bike will be messed up even more from the hack saw s and bolt cutters.

Not cheap, but what is anymore.

Pretty easy to take in your room if your gonna loose sleep especially if it does'nt have lights to unplug, if ya run in solo position the stock antenna works as is so no wire there.

A Glock 40 cal should be a deterrent. Then again you could always carry the bags with you.

This ain't pretty, but the again, neither am I ...

I looped about a 4' plastic coated cable from the left saddle bag guard/frame, through the chrome base/frame of the tour pack, and locked it to the right saddle bag guard/frame on my 09 RK Police.

Theft proof? No.

But a hell of a lot more of a deterrent than Harley's locking pin set-up that any clown could knock loose with a hammer and walk off with my $700 tour pack in a minute.

Things are kinda hectic right now, but when I get some free time I'll post a photo just to give you some ideas.

Better read up on those some more before you buy. I've read the angle makes it impossible to put the key in them without having to bend the key or something weird like that. Do a search first.
