I'm not entirely sure this apology is really warranted as I for one truly learned a lot about both of these tuners. So for what it's worth this is what I got.

If your only adding a cam for a bump in performance, not building the highest HP or TQ engine, and don't have access to, or don't want to pay for, a good tuner with a Dyno the PC-V will do an adequate job. It may not produce the best possible numbers but adequate.

If you have access to a good tuner, and maybe a bit more money, the TTS of SEST would do a better job and allow you to get the most out of your build.

Now I just have to decide which way I want to go.

George

Not a problem, you made a good choice. I never said these tuners were not excellent devices, but challenged assertions they can tune more effectively than the PCV from a practical perspective.

You are also saying that Jamie Long at Fuel Moto is shooting blanks? Would you like to say that publicly?

-I have been "attempting" to help folks understand that "numbers" don't mean dick, for some time now.
We agree on something. Write that down somebody. I would wager we agree on more than we disagree on. Want to try to find common ground?

A "pretty" dyno sheet is nothing more than snapshot of what a particular motor did at 100% WFO, on a particular dyno, with a particular operator, on a particular day.
Damn, two in a row! I'm beginning to feel chills running down my back from the joy I feel.

I know that, but you haven't replied to my assertions that the Alpha-N argument is irrelevant since both are using it. What is most pertinent to the discussion, IMO, is the use of the MAP sensor. You say it is not used when the PCx is installed but it is. Am I misinterpreting your statements?

You can "tell" folks till your blue in the face that George Washington is the current president, but it simply is not true. Unfortunately, the concept that "repetition strengthens and confirms" dies still work. Repeat a fantasy over & over and people will start to believe it. Just look at Fox News as an example.
Okay, Phil, okay. Could we nix the personal insults from now on? We know your opinion about my manifold (pun intended) ignorance, so can we get back on-topic now? Let's start with my last long-winded reply to you and discuss the points I made one by one. Is that asking too much?

An Alpha-N control system "manages" fuel and (sometimes) ignition timing based on RPM and Throttle position.
Okay, so the PCx is running on the Alpha-N concept, which I acknowledged in my last long post to you, so are you not doing the same thing with your VE tables? If not the same thing please explain why without multiple references to my frightful ignorance, if possible. Thank you.

Here are some points I'd like your take on:

1. I would like to know why Alpha-N is such degrading quality when it is much apart of both systems.

2. Do you still think the MAP sensor is dead or weakened when a PCx is installed?

3. Do you think TTS/SERT is providing better feedback for AFR management than PCV with Auto-Tune? If so, explain why.

4. You spoke of a "three-dimensional" quality to the way TTS/SEST works. Considering the PCx does use the MAP and other on-board sensors just as TTS/SEST does, why would the PCx not be the same? Using that same logic why wouldn't the PCV-AT be four-dimensional with its full-range O2-sensing capability?

5. The point of tuning is to get the proper pulse-width and spark at the right time. Why does TTS/SEST do a better job than a PCV with or without AT since both use the same fundamental setup (stock ECM)? All the PCx does is alter AFR's and timing based on a dyno tune by adding an additional hardware component. TTS/SEST is doing the same thing except that the manipulation is internal to the ECM.

Thanks.

Well this has been a real educational thread if you consider "How to Hijack Someones Thread" educational. Read the first post and tell me how that turned into and Super EFI thread. There is a lot of good info posted by some real intelligent people in this thread and there is some real bad info posted by some not so real intelligent people. I'll let you be the judge. I'm gonna shut this down. Pick the one you believe and them pm them for more info if you need it.
