I have the Monster Oval slip ons.

IMO, a deeper sound on throttle, but no were near obnoxious. I can hear the radio ALL the time......... 40mph or 80mph........

The bike sounds more like a Harley.

GO FOR IT......... YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

had mine for about 4000 miles. love the sound, definately louder than stock but no where near as loud as V&H 2-1 or Hooker slip-ons i had on previous bikes. they also sound better imo, deeper. i do feel they have gotten louder with the miles, the first 1000 i felt they might be too quiet. as for scraping, they do touch down shortly after the floorboards but usually only when hitting a bump mid corner, a little more psi in the shock helps. i'm very happy with my MO's.

If you get them and they are too quite, drill a 1.25" hole in each baffle. They will still be deep, just 20% louder. If you are looking for something that sets off car alarms, they are not for you (too quite).

I paid a lot of money for mine, so I am stuck with them. I do like the "pontoon" look they give my street glide...

Thanks guys for the replies. I really want a good blend of that loud, but not too loud sound. Just don't want to spend 700 bones and find them to be the same as stock... that would suck, but I also don't want a headache...

Buy 'em .. You'll like 'em.
I've got about 10k on a set of oval slip-ons. They sound better now than when new. They offer the perfect Harley touring sound (I ride an Ultra Classic), I can hear the radio, I can hear traffic around me, and the are nice and rumbly, with a more than noticeable bark when you rip it open.
Highway cruising volume is perfect. No tinnitus like I used to get with my old mufflers.
I do scrape the boards on a regular basis, but never noticed scraping the mufflers.. Could be I have the air up a little higher..or it could be an effect on some of the lowered bikes like the Street Glide.

Everyone has different tastes, but I like them a lot better than my V&H straight slip-on that I replaced, and they are not even in the same galaxy as stock mufflers.

My '03 is a stock 88" but with a Stage 1 upgrade taken to the next level with Monsters and a Fuel Pak tuner; as the miles roll on the Monsters get a little deeper and some louder at idle but wake up at the roll of the throttle. The guys I ride with say they are just as loud as theirs from the full rear view, you just don't get the report at the controls.

I had SMOKIN' loud Hookers on it when I bought it, just got tired of needing ear plugs to ride. Oh, and have never had them hit the road on turns.
