Buy the Ultra......If you get the heritage, then you'd wish you would have bought the Ultra.

Default Get the Ultra

I had a 04 road king and my wife only rode short rides as the seat was not very comfortable for her, and the conversation during the ride was difficult with the wind and engine noise. Traded it for an 08 Ultra, and it is heaven. My wife will ride everywhere with me, and the intercom system is awsome. We can talk to each other in a normal conversation, and now have communication with our riding buddies. I will never look back. The Ultra isby far the way to go.

Wasn't the same for me. Fairing felt heavy for steering, seat felt way too high,..... just wasn't the bike for me. My last 6 or 7 bikes have all been softails, as will my next 6 or 7. I just love 'em!

Another vote for the Ultra.
What bike are you coming from anyway?

He has a Streetglide.
Could it be he doesn't want me to have a bigger, nicer bike?
The way I see it, he has a much bigger house, nicer cars, but I really don't care about all that.

All I want is to have my wife ride with me on some of these 500 mile lunch rides that the Fl. crew does. She will be ALOT more COMFORTABLE on an ultra, right?
You ask this in the touring section. What did you expect to hear? I have both a Fatboy (same frame as the heritage) and a Street Glide (a touring frame). I've taken 2000 to 3000 mile trips on both. They both have their pros and cons. Try both and buy what works for you. Who cares what anybody else thinks? In the touring section everyone prefers an Ultra, in the Softail section, I'm sure it will be the opposite. Get what you want.

I have both also and do agree on, get what you want but personally I prefer my Street Glide over the softail 9 times out of 10 and if passenger comfort is the most important aspect, then the Ultra is hands down the choice I would make every time.

at a minimum get a streetglide too, the hard bags, and the radio, and the windshield. You'll be much happier with it. I have a friend that bought the heritage and went back a few months later and traded for the streetglide. Do yourself a favor and get the big tourer.

Yes Ed, he did. He said the Ultra is heavier and wider than the sporty. I don't have a stock seat on my sporty, I have the sundowner and it raised me up. I have sat on an Ultra and it is the same hieght as mine. The Ultra stands up easier from the jiffy stand than my sporty though.

He also said they are difficult to back up.

He sold Harleys for a couple months and pretty much got to ride all of the bikes. However, I just think he wants to have a bigger bike.

As for as having ***** envy...I don't know and don't really care if his is longer, but I bet mine is wider!
