Even around town, I love my touring bikes. I have no trouble in and out of places.

Take your wife down to the dealer, look at both, sit on both, ride them if the weathers good, and compare, go with what the 2 of you like, who cares what he says. And, get the brightest color you can buy, that will kick his butt.

Went from a 2006 softtail to a 2008 EGC for the comfort and ride. I love it! But I've been transforming it into an ultra ever since. Go with the Ultra you'll never be sorry. Down side, your wife will kick your a$$ for not doing it sooner.
