Default Exhaust Flow

Hi

Firstly Merry Xmas from the UK to all of you!!

This may be an easy question to answer.....I have a 2009 RKC and hace just had some VH Ovals put on and a SERT and remap. When I start I get loads of pressure coming out the left exhaust (as you look at it from behind) and not a lot at all coming from the right side. As far as I know this balance does not change when riding. Is this normal as I have searched the threads and it all seems the other way around??

Any help in explaining this would be welcomed

many thanks

Not sure about the V&H Ovals but with the Dynotuned Jackpots, there is a left and right to the mufflers.

Change the header out for a true dual setup and I think that will fix it, assuming you have the original 2-1-2 headers.

Have you checked the exhaustvalve in the headpipe , maybe it's stucked in closed position or something.

Thanks for the responses

Not sure where the exhaust valve is in the header pipes, but will check. Will also look in true duals

Seems to me that it's the other way around - more exhaust out the RH muff (looking forward from the back, brake side) than the LH one. That's normal, don't sweat it.

Thats why I am so puzzled. It coming from the left hand one (on the belt side) and not the right hand one (brake side). Hmmm??

Hi Shari, Happy Holidays to you as well. Who put your mufflers on? Check and make sure they didn't get them reversed. If I'm not mistaken, because of the crossover pipe running underneath to the left side on the 09's, the mufflers are different. I just sold an 09 EGC and I had more exhaust coming out the right side.

Different on the 08 UC I have now, The way the header pipe splits at the rear cylinder and goes both ways, I get equal out both pipes, maybe a little more out the left side. Good luck

Hi

I have had a look at the mufflers and they are definately on the right way around as they have in dents in each side to clear the axle nuts. My local harley dealer put them on for me and remapped with the SERT so I am wonderibng if its something to do with that. I have contacted them, but obviously its holiday season so they take sometime to come back.
