I have used a "spitter" or "Y-connecter" in my cigarette lighter to power both a GPS and an IPOD. Ran them for three solid weeks on a trip without any problems what-so-ever. Does this help??? Just make sure you route the wiring so it doesn't interfear with your steering. I coiled mine up with elastic so it would give if needed in a slow-speed turn.
1plumr1, unless your heated seat plays music, thats not what jberg is asking.
... funny you should mention that sort of 'combo seat', cuz i think i've got one !
.... While i didn't see it listed as an option when i bought it, i've noted that after hitting the annual HOG group chili cookoff, my seat is both heating AND got sounds coming from it ! Man, them seat-techs must be goood cuz there's no visible switch for it or nuthin !
My fault for not being more specific.
I refer to the aux jack on the radio for audio inputs. Makes sense that the impedance thing would be an issue. A friend has done the Kennedy thing and finds it effective but expensive, of course. It cuts in at the intercom connection on the HK unit so it's designed to override other audio components, just like the intercom. It must also have it's own power source since he says it works even when the radio is completely off. Thanks for the help. Jberg
I am sorry, when I read your question I for some reason thought you were speaking about the 12 volt (cigarette) lighter connection. After more posts, I realize now of what you were referring too.
