Default Fairing paint

Was considering picking up a Woody's fairing for my RK and having it painted or do it myself. Any idea how much base coat, paint, and clear coat would be involved? Not sure if it would be smart for me to attempt it myself as I've never done that type of painting before. Also picked up a used pair of harley lowers which I'll need to paint also. The current finish on them is in excellent condition. What type of prep work would be required for them? My RK color is Crimson Red Sunglow.

I bought a quadzilla fairing and took it to a buddies body shop for paint.( I have done probably near a hundred paint jobs in my 25 years of bike building but havent painted in 15 years.) My bike is vivid black, He charged me a hundred bucks to paint it in single stage. The Sunglow is a heavy metallic paint. If you have no experience in painting I would have a shop do it for you. You can really make a mess of the metallic if you don't know how to paint. I have seen guys do metallic paint jobs that were very blotchy from uneven application. It would probably only take a few ounces of paint and clear. Most shops can mix their own paint in very small quantities. By the time you bought the primer, paint, clear, thinner and hardeners you could pay someone to do it for you. I would ask around at a few shops. Most shop owners like these types of jobs. They're quick, easy and cash money. Sometimes the shops painters take in side jobs even cheaper.

Thanks for the reply. You're right, I"ll leave it up to the professionals. Don't want to spend that type of money then screw it up.
