In the market for a set of sockets, torx and hex set. I seen that cruz tool just came out with a set. Its made in the usa, liftime warrenty. Anyone have any experience with them? How about the quality on there other tool set or should I just stick with craftsman. What is the difference between the solid torx set and the one with the hole in the center.
I bought a sweet set of Craftsmen sockets in a nice nylon zipper gig pretty cheap. Added some hex heads, a few other goodies into the gig and am pretty well covered for the basics.

Now I'm a Snap-on guy but I won a set of Cruz tools in a kit a couple of years ago. The kit is really well thought out and has an LED flashlight, electrical tape, plug gap guage, as well as sockets and wrenches, little visegrips and more. It all rolls up in a neat little pouch. It's always in my saddle bag. I doubt you could put together as neat and coprehensive package with the pouch anywhere for what it costs. I haven't used them much but they are way prettier than Sears tools, and I leave my Snap-on stuff in the garage where it's safe!
Haven't heard anything bad about them, personally, I use Kobalt, supposed to be made by Snap-on, anyhow, got enough to do basic repairs if needed, anything heavy, I call a flatbed.
I've read that a lot of Snap-on, Craftsman, etc., are made in China and other places. If Cruz is made in USA I'd go for them as I've heard the quality is good.
I have the Cruz road tech kit. I am very happy with it, well made. I really like the little socket wrench. Great road kit, I have Mac, Craftsman and Snap on in the garage. My Craftsman tools from the late 70s and 80s are great, well made and thin wall. The new stuff is junk. At least once a month I return something, a broken socket, socket wrench or screw driver. I don't misuse them they just don't last the way they used to. For me, I have been buying less, but buying MAC and Snap On.
Go for the Cruz..... You will not be disappointed Be Safe JIM
