I have a friend who is thinking of getting the Dragonfly fairing for his 06 RK with their stereo option. He is also looking at getting the handlebar controls they offer to control the stereo.
Has anyone installed theses controls on their bike and if so whats involved. If it makes a difference he has already added the H-D cruise control a couple of years ago.
I have not done this, but am interested myself. My fairing is up at Dragonfly getting repainted. I will be picking it up sometime in the next few days. I will try to remember to ask the owner about this.
You are correct. I have this option and let me tell you it is outstanding! Before I got the hand controls it was very dangerous to reach up to change channels, volume, etc.
Not sure if Dragonfly offers the old "bubble-style" stereo or not, but tell your friend to get the JBL LCD version. Totally waterproof and no bubble.
The install is not too difficult. Just a bit tricky installing the switches into the housings. Feel free to PM me if you need more assistance.
PS Having the cruise already doesn't make a difference. The audio switches are seperate.
