Hey guys I use a IPOD nano while on my bike, and I love it, but as we all know the battery life isnt too good on these things, I would love to be able to charge the IPOD while I'm not riding. I would also like to charge it while it is secured in the saddle bag. Has anyone run wired into the saddle bag and then had those wires wired into a cig outlet, or just a plain old ipod charging wire. Pictures would also be good if anyone has done this..
PLUS 2 What Twin said. I have always put a lighter plug in my Tour Pak and or saddle bag for the cell phone, ipod, gps, etc. Another thing you can do is a plug on the lighter that plugs into the battery tender lead, this is the way I give my cell phone a fast charge during lunch while out on the Sportster (no saddle bags)
Thanks for the info guys. My only question is will it charge when the bike is off? thanks again for the info!
If you want to charge the ipod on the bike while the bike is off, you will have to hook up your socket to the battery so you can have an always on connection.
I am wiring a hot spot to my battery like above, i also purchased the cigerette lighter charger, it dont have the cable, the usb chord plugs into the cig charger and into the nano, good to go, i plan to try and figure out a place to secure the hot spot..got to be a place.
