Default recent recall

Has anyone had the tank mounts repaired under the current recall? I've got accent lights mounted on my tank and was concerned that when they do the recall work my lights will get messed up.

I had mine done this last Saturday and it took longer to do the paperwork then the recall, its just two plastic standoff's that mount under the tanks front mount bolts. I think they took off the front tank mount bolts and maybe the back bolt and either lifted the tank or slid it back enough to put the standoff's on and them bolted everything back up. I think as long as they are aware of your lights and there not mounted right on the tank mounting tab you will be fine. Once you see the recall fix it seems almost like a joke as far as the fix goes.

My current thought was to not do the recall. it doesn't seem worth the potential for someone to accidentally scratch my bike on an insignificant change. I would have bigger problems if i'm in a crash bad enough to tear the gas tank mount.

The only issue with not doing the recall is the fact it is a safety issue and if you were unfortunate enough to have an accident the insurance company could possibly deny your claim if it was not completed, just a thought. It really is no big deal, mine was done in 15 minutes and I even watched the guys do it at the dealer. Just my 2 cents!

Didn't consider the potential insurance implications...
Maybe I'll have it done the next time I'm in the shop for other work.

I have the HD Chrome bolts on my tank. They are part number 62920-00A. Service guy at my dealer said I didn't need the recall if I was using this kit...Said to bring it in so he can check it off the list. I'm going there next week.

I had mine done last week without a problem,I was asked how much gas was in the tank though, seems it's easier if the tank is not full.
