I'm replacing the 5 LED's in the lower rear fender light with 90 LED's.
Question, If I run a brake light wire from the connection plug that now controls the fender light (running lights only), will the LED's increase in brightness when the brakes are applied???
I'm assuming that the Ultras with the tourpacks have this same set up and the light brightness increases but I want to be sure.
I have a dual element circuit being sent with the LED strips in case I need to use it.
The one I bought from Radiantz had a 2 wires that used the plug behind the fender tip light and then a 3rd wire that went into the connector behind the brake light. And yes it did increase in brightness when applied.

I could do that but since there's a connector that's already wired for running lights, brake lights and I'm assuming power, it would be easier to just run a third wire from the light unit to that connector.
I'm sure other s will chime in.....................
I'm doing just about the same as the above poster.....
I already pulled my stock light assembly apart, so there will be no before pics....
$85.05 for three LED Strips (30 LED's per strip)
$4.99 for the dual element wire
$1.00 male tang for the tour pack connector. Picked up at HD dealer. Got to run another wire from the light now for brake light operation.
Some furnace duct tape, reflective silver to line the housing.
Some clear silicone to seal the smoked lens back onto the housing.
Some heat shrink tubing and some wire ties.
I have been thinking about doing this as well. Might use this one... http://www.radiantz.com/cart/index1.html?c34.html&1
and just siliconing it to the back of the housing. It only has 55 LEDs but already wired for run/brake and was thinking about just keeping the ones that are in there on top, running the wires out of the housing and splicing into the current wires. The only thing I do not like doing is the splicing but I already have the wires running to a different plug and installed in the taillight housing. Might be able to cut the pins off and join all of the wires together and adding new pins but I am not sure if I have enough slack in that wire from the last time I cut it down.
You can wire any L.E.D. strips directly behind your run/turn/brake controller for dual intensity. You only need 2 wires for run/turn or 3 for run/turn/brake. Hopefully you bought the best controller on the market Badlands.
