Know of a 2008 or I could go for a newer/new '09 or '10.
There were a few changes in '09, could some of you familiar with these give me some advice?
Power, the '08 I know of has the 96 or 98? CI engine. new ones are 110? Is there really much difference.
Passenger room. Bigger frame on newer model, is there extra passenger room?
Heat. I rode a '10 ultra rental for two days recently in perfect 80 degree FL weather. My right calf could get a bunch of heat if I didn't give it an inch more air room, the back cyl deactivation didn't seem to make much difference. haven't ridden one in really hot weather. Would the '08 be much different, or are there mods (parade fan?) that could make this a lot better?

Any other advice?

I just bought my first Harley, a 2010 EGC. After doing a ton of research here is a few things I can tell you.
The stock motor is still a 96" unless you get the Limited and it's a 103"
They changed the frames in 09
Cant tell you about the heat, haven't got to ride it yet here in Kansas
The 2010 has Catalytic Converters in the head pipe
The 5th gear is helical cut in 2010 as opposed to straight cut in prior years to reduce noise.
The black one's are suppose to be the fastest, so that's what I bought.
Hope this helps
There is a website called: totalmotorcycle.com that describes the yearly changes on most all brands of motorcycles over the past 10 years. I'm quite sure it will answer most of your questions.
There's also been a couple of threads on here recently asking about differences between the '08 and '10 UC's. Some good info in there already, find those and you'll get some more opinions.

Thanks for the tips so far. Sorry to show my ignorance of the HD brand, but the rental has made me a believer and after years of denial, I am now seriously considering one. My current '86 Yamaha Venture Royale is a great bike, but at some point I won't be able to fix it anymore. I will check out the web site and do a better search of this web site. I would welcome any additional advice!
