You don't need to remove the inner fairing, just the outer fairing, radio, ignition switch and cap. Be sure not to turn the handlebars with the ignition swich off or it'll lock. I just pulled the switch, removed the cap, and then replaced the switch to prevent this. I found that blowing strings (two through the throttle side and one through the clutch side) through the handlebars made pulling the wires easier. The throttle by wire is a pain because it has a little plug right in the middle of the bar which likes to come unplugged while pulling the wire. It helps to have an extra person for help and a manual.
I did the 12'' and almost wish I would have gone 16''. I am 6'3'' and they are the most comfortable bar I have ever had. I got them from phatperformanceparts.com They had them in stock. I also have a write up I can email you to help with the install when you get ready.
I like these bars ut I'm sitting on the fence a bit to think about if I'll take trigger on a set. Anyone think that Yaffe will be in Sturgis this year and if he does go does his shop install bars there?
I just recieved my 10" Apes from him, and they look great. I ordered a lot of stuff from him, and if you want things quick, do not go with PY, but if you want the best and are willing to wait, he is the man.

Does anyone have any tips for wiring these bars in 12"??? These bars are driving me crazy. The directions are less than helpful. Any tips??? I was thinking of eliminating the green throttle plug, by cutting and soldering the wire extentions. Is there a problem in doing that??
