Sony head unit has a setting in the menu to shut off the beeping.

Which radio? I went with the Biketronics Retro Radio and a Sony head unit.No beep or messages.

The OP's talking about a brand new HD Harman Kardon head unit installed in his bike, not a Sony or other aftermarket unit.
