I just got my Zumo 660 and am really interested in the fairing mount for my 2009 Ultra Classic. Anyone have or seen this actually mounted to a bike? I'd like to hear pro and con of handlebar vs. fairing mounts from those that have either one.
I had the quest mounted on my fairing of my 03 RG and I liked it due to it kept my handlebars clean and uncluttered. Now withmy 09 road glide, due to the fact i bought the painted inner fairing and I did not want to drill holes in that thing I went tithe the handle bar mount and that is all you can use since they do not make the fairing mount for the RG. The only down side is can't see the gas gauge, but the gas feature on the 660 makes up for it. You can see the mount in the photo.
I just seen one mounted on the faring last week, I have the 550 and was wondering what they would look like. Was a little discouraged when they came out because they say it cant be mounted with a windsheild bag, the one I seen at dealer had the zumo mounted with the WS bag. I dont like looking that far down while riding so the Faring mount will be in my near future. sorry no pics.

Pictures would be great, if available.

Check out Kuryakyn's web site. I think they make a replacement chrome fuel door that has an integral mount. Looks like a viable option.
I have the Kuryakyn Fuel Door mount. I like it. I mean there is the cable problem when fueling up [moving wires, stressing them.], but the location is superior to the fairing OR handlebar mount. It is centered, and all you do is a quick look down. Anyway it is a personal preference thing i guess. But have a look at the fuel door. I'd go that way again. Just really tighten the knurled nut, or you'll end up with it lost in the ditch on the first ride.
