Follow the directions and make sure you record at 8X or slower......I'm speaking from experience!

I did mine upgrade today
Worked OK, but the radio did not power don and turn back on as it stated in the instructions.
I waited 15 minutes and then turned the radio off for a couple of minutes and then back on and then ejected the CD and put it back into Diag Mode, it said the software was 8.0 so I guess I am set

You could get it into diag mode and see what version of the software is to tell.

To get into update mode hold down two of the "softkeys" while turning the ignition switch to the accessory position. Once in that mode, I think it's button #4 that will display the version info.
