Default Replacing torn air shock boots

If your air shock boots are torn, You can't buy replacements from Harley. You can get a Shock Mate Boot Kit part number SA1997 that works great. Just jack up the rear of your bike and remove the bottom shock bolt. Then cut the old boot off. The Shock Mate Boot come too long , So you'll need to cut about 6 ribs off of it. Then slide it on and secure it with tie wraps at each end.
You might be able to find these at your local auto parts store. I got mine from Amazon.com for $6.70 each. I bought 4 of them to have spares and save the shipping cost. If your a purest you can buy replacment boot from Honda for a GL1500 but there about $40 each
The picture is of them on my Ultra Classic. The link shows the boots on a GL1500. And the Shock Mate boots are made in the USA. They also come in 8 different colors.

Good to know. If harley did sell a replacement, it would have cost $100.00.

Thanks for sharing this information. This is definitely a better option than duct tape. Rubbit is correct -- I couldn't imagine what Harley would have charged for the same item bearing their name.
