Does anyone have any klockwerks super saver slip ons? If so how do you like them. I have true duals that makes everything else unbearable. Want something a little quieter.
I am getting my Klock SS mufflers today, will install them tomorrow and will post on HD Forums how I like them. I am also doing a Iron Butt ride next Saturday 6/14/14 and that should burn out some of the packing in the baffles.
Bought a pair ( 4" slash up) off a forum member here and have about a thousand miles on them. Touch louder than stock which is fine by me. The ones I have are the 'long' version which stick out about 2" from the back of the bag. Chrome seems excellent. I'm happy with them.
I put the new mufflers on this morning and rode for just over 100 Miles. Humming along the highway at 70+ mph and I could barely hear the mufflers. The last 5 miles on city streets Klock Super Savers had just a nice deep growl. I love 'em...
Had Rinehart 3.5" slip-ons and wanted something a little quieter, decided to give super savers a try. I bought the long version with slash up to put on my Ultra. I have a 95" kit with Andrews 26 cams. The best I can describe the sound is" a deeper growl on acceleration" than the Rineharts. Quieter at cruising speeds above 50mph, but by no means quiet. Start up in my garage still is pretty loud. If they are in between stock pipes and the Rineharts, they are closer to the loud pipes than the quiet ones. Anyway, I like the change and I can hear my motor, my radio, and my passenger now.
When I installed my true duels I had Rush slip-ons, they were loud. Headache loud. I tried the Klockwerks super savers and although they are not quiet, they are not excessively loud either. On a stock exhaust system I would imagine they would be much quieter.
The Klockwerks don't have that droney type tone at cruising speeds, they sound quite nice. If you are looking for quite you will not find it with these mufflers, that is, with true duels. For the money they are a great deal, I'm happy with them.
I rode an "Iron Butt" 1,000 miles in one day event yesterday which means around 16 hours of runnin' down the highway. I decatted the header myself and the Klock SS were great. Great sound, low rumble and got several comments from riders that liked the sound.
