How difficult is the chrome front end installation on an '05 RK? Do the front forks have to be disassembled? This might be my winter project if it doesn't sound too difficult.

Ted,
With the knowledge and want to do you have, you can do it, it's not that difficult and you already know how to get the nacalle off, after that it's just a matter of dissasembly and if you have your current legs chromed, installing new seals is about the hardest thing. Are you planning on having your current lower legs chromed?
I just did mine...replaced the lowers for chrome ones...I assume this is what you're talking about.
I got all the way down the forks and took them in and paid the dealer. I stood there and watched figuring I could learn something. What I learned was, I'll always take it to the dealership. There were a few special tools that were needed, and some that Harley doesn't make...
Thanks for all of the responses - this might be a job for the shop - I will wait until winter when they are looking for work and try to get a good price. Perhaps I'll have the 95" engine mod done at the same time. Have a great Memorial Day weekend, guys (and gals). And, a big thank you to all the vets out there!
