Default Garmin Quest 2 / Functionality Question

I am thinking of picking up a Garmin Quest 2 GPS unit for my trip out West. For anyone who has the Quest 2 can you please tell me if it allows you to hook it up to your computer and download the route with stops you pick? I have the route and stops already planned and that would make it easier than the GPS unit re-routing me on roads we don't want to be on.

Also I saw that HD sells a new handlebar mount for the Quest. Anyone got it? I don't want to install the permanent mount because I don't want the holes in my inner fairing…

I have the quest, but it functions the same as the quest 2. Yes you can hook it up to your computer and download routes and stops or you can do it right from the unit itself. Personally I like to do it from the computer, since you can use the keyboard to type instead of using the tedious buttons on the quest. As far as the mount goes I have a standard RAM mount but I don’t like the all black look so I too am interested in the HD version since it's smaller and less noticeable.

Search this board for that HD mount before you buy it. Not a lot of happy customers...something about gps units skipping across the highway leading to skepticism about its suitability.

The Quest 2 is a good unit. You can connect it to your computer with a USB Cable that comes with the unit. Some units ship withouot the desktop software. Garmin will sent it to you at no charge for the asking. I use a Ram Handlebar mount connected to the Garmin motorcycle mount. Works like a charm.
