I had my stealer install the duals and they did not install the mtg bracket that goes under trans.I s this required?Another dlr told me that some kits come shorted this bracket and they just don't install anything, just looking for thr truth as always[concerning dlr's that is]
The right side pipe has to be attached to the mount under the side of the tranny or you will have problems with it all staying together. How is it held in place now?
It can be a small pain to get the bracket on. The bracket definitely comes with the pipes. Some I've seen have used hose clamps to attach the pipe there because they couldn't get the bracket on. You need support in this area.
I cannot imagine that you'd be safe without it. You would be relying on the 2 header studs and the clamp under the saddlebag supporting the full right side of the exhaust system. The clamp that mounts near the tranny looks to me like it probably is the MOST important support of the entire system.
Unfortunately, the right side pipe will need to be removed now for installation of the clamp.
My kit also came with the clamp. I did my own install and if the instructions said to use it, you can bet I did. I can't see how the dealer can say that it's not necessary. That headpipe needs to be clamped down.
