Installing Floaters
Thanks,
J
Don't forget the torque wrench and loctite when reinstalling the bolts - don't want the discs to come loose in the future....may want to check Harley - they have a chrome bolt kit you might want to look at also
Remove the wheel
Find an old tire or crate to set the wheel on .. remove rotors
Inspect everything you can see - better to catch something now than later
Spray brake cleaner into the bolt holes & clean it out
Install rotors & NEW bolts & red Loctite - torque to specs
Good time to upgrade the stock brake pads to EBC Kevlar or Lyndall Racing Z or Gold Pads
Grease the axel a little & reinstall wheel - torque everything to specs
Pump up the brakes & check rotation - a little brake drag is normal
Reinspect everything before dropping it back down
Recheck the brakes by sitting on it & holding the brakes in, rocking the bike forward
Take a short test ride
Working with brakes is no place for short-cuts

Go get the lift. I cant say why floaters are not standard on every bike, but they should be.
. Like everything else including handlebars, etc because they can make a lot more money.
