RK needs new bars HELP!!
I tried a search and really didn't get the answer i was looking for.
I'm wanting 12" apes for a 01' FLHRCI, and have run into more questions than answers.
I would like a kit. I've heard good things about the Wild1 chubby, but I haven't been able to find a kit. I have been looking at Hill Country Customs, but am unsure about the dimensions of their bars compared to the Wild1. HCC bars are .5" less rise, 3" less pull back 2" less center compared to the Wild1 bars. I don't know what bar would be the most comfortable.
Are there any more places or other brands I should be considering?
Sorry for the dumb questions I just don't have any experiance here, and I don't want to make a $500+ mistake.
Thanks for the help in advance!

On my Electraglides, I have used both WILd1 and Cyclesmith apes. Both good bars but I thought that the Wild1 had too much pullback (I have long arms). When I was riding a Heritage Springer, I had Burly apes. Liked them and they were less expensive. Both of my sons have Flanders apes (1-1/4" black), one on a 1987 FXR and 1 on a 1998 Dyna. Those are nice bars. Just check around; see if someone has the apes you are thinking about and see if you can sit on the bike and try them. To me hand placement and arm angle and extension are most important.
Changing bars, lenghtening wires and new cables is not that difficult.

Unless things have changed in the last couple years HD measures their pullback differently than others. Be sure you are comparing apples to apples before ordering.

HD has bars called "Relax" or something like that for raising the bars and a bit of a pull back for riders that feel they are reaching for the grips. I put them on late in the season and they seemed to do the trick. Not sure of the height but are substantially higher than stock.
