Just picked up my new 10 RK yesterday and it is an awesome ride. Switched from a 1500 vulcan classic and the seating plus bike weight are huge differences, but you can't beat the comfort of the RK. I am still in the break in period which is why I have time to post. I am in 1 of the down phases of the 30 on-30-off heat cycling. I should reach 250 mi by the end of this weekend and this it is on. I really like the way Rienhardt rerouted the true duals under the bike, heat seems like it will be less of an issue compared to some of the older models. Anyway time to get 30-on
Congratulations! I have an 09RKPolice. There are several great Japanese cruisers out there but there is still only one original and that's why I went with Harley. Maybe not as "original" as it used to be with overseas outsourcing these days but it's as close as I can get in my lifetime.
30 on 30 off?
NAAAAAAA!!! Put 50 easy miles on it. Stay below 50 mph. Shift allot. Up down, up down. Vary speed continuously. Use gears to slow down (engine braking) It wears the rings in properly. After 50 mi, just continue the same process, increasing speed slightly as you go.
You don't have to baby it. Just don't get on the interstate and hold it an any steady speed.
Congratulations! I put on about 2500 miles on my 2010 RKC before I had to put it away last year. I can't wait to get back on it, they are nice riding bikes.

Congratulations. It seems like there are a lot of new RK owners on here lately.
I just broke mine in according to the manual and have had no issues. Almost 4000 miles on the clock now.
