SE Compensator ?
Not sure of the labor charge, but $250 for the parts. I've complained about some noise in the transmission, which Sancho has provided me a possbile solution, I just haven't had the bike out.
When discussing this noise with my local dealer, he told me that part of the solution might be to go to the SE compensator, saying that the OEM version on 96" motors is too weak. He says he has done five bikes, and all the owners were happy with the outcome.
Will have to see why fgunnr wants to change his out; might not be for any noise issues.

This is an easy do it yourself project is you are mechanical and have the tools. There is a lot of info on how to do this.

Cost me about $350 and its the best money I've spent in a while. No more kickbacks! No more squealing starts that sounds like the starter is ripping out! and you can do it yourself....it's an easy job.
Had issues with mine also. Dealer finaly agreed to replace it. They allowed me to upgrade for the price difference of the part only. About $150.00. gaskets were inc in warranty. My dealer takes care of me.
