Had issues with mine also. Dealer finaly agreed to replace it. They allowed me to upgrade for the price difference of the part only. About $150.00. gaskets were inc in warranty. My dealer takes care of me.
My dealer replaced mine under warranty and he charged me $150 to upgrade also. As HodDoc says Stock one is a piece of crap.
Yes, the OEM compensator is less than ddesired. The dealer here has offered to replace, under warrenty, and you pay diff between OEM comp and SE comp ~$129 ... and some are too cheap to do it.
What are the issues with the stock one? Just curious....my transmission clunks alot when shifting and makes an awful knocking noise right when I start it up.

You are experiencing the issues with that awful starting knock. Put some 75W90 gear oil in your tranny and it will help the clunking. Redline shock proof, amsoil, Mobil 1.
Sancho, now you tell me! I changed all the fluids shortly after I picked up the 08
RKC and I thought the SLAM on startup was much less. But with V-twin Mobil 1,
in engine, and Mobil 75W90 in tranny and Mobil ATF in primary. I just cant see
what part the tranny plays when starting the engine, as it is in netural at start
up. Having said that, there was less SLAMING on sartup. But by that time I was
in posession of the SE-Comp. And now it is installed.......Tenn.Vol.
I was going to install the SE Compensator on mine just out of boredom and because of all the hoopla, but then I didn't want to fix something that wasn't broke, ESPECIALLY with my drive train, so I'll stay with my crappy OEM that hasn't given me a lick of trouble. I'll fanigle alot of things on my bike, but when it comes to my drivetrain I like to play it smart and air on the side of conservative. Nothing like introducing unwanted noises if they are not there to start with.
