Any special precautions when washing the bike, especially in the inner faring area. I never use a pressure washer on any bike, just hose pressure.

Thanks in advance

I've had my UC for over two years now and have had no problems washing the inner fairing including windshield, fairing, and gauges.

Like the rest of the bike, I rinse the inner fairing with a light spray, soap it down, then rinse again.

I do make sure the AUX plug is in place and the CD door is closed but that's about it.

I'd recommend that you avoid spraying water onto your inner fairing. Rain water hits the outer fairing when moving. Even when parked it never comes at the inner horizontally. Too many stories about fogged gauges and shorted radios.
Wipe with a damp cloth, treat with 303 Aerospace Protectant, use q-tips around gauges and you'll be fine.

I wash the bike fairing and all have done this for years with no problem. Then I dry it using a heated blower. I bought a heated blower that is made for grooming dogs. Same as the ones made for drying bikes but at a fraction of the price. I bought mine off of ebay.

Washing the inner fairing isn't going to hurt anything. It is all waterproof. Coming back from the Harley 100th party in Milwaukee, I rode in torrential rain for 8 straight hours and going to the 105th I rode in the middle of Hurricane Faye for 5 hours, with the rain going sideways at times. You know with that kind of rain for that many hours non-stop, the inner fairing can take a normal bike washing. I would not use a pressure washer, but normal water hose pressure is not going to hurt anything on your bike. Jerry

RIDE!...as far as the washing goes. I use the incredible Mr Clean autowash system...on EVERYTHING. I even leave my zumo 550 on playing tunes while I wash (and I even wash the speaker covers)...no prob. The only precaution I ever take is to ensure the door is closed down on the CD player. Hose (or rain) water won't (and shouldn't) bother these things a bit.

What is this washing you speak of? The cleanest parts of my bike are the seat and grips. I can envision guys pulling over to the side of the road ,and laying over their precious bike so no rain drops come in contact with their delicate motorcycle .,,

Wash mine with low pressure water. The only issue I have found is that the little metal ring surrounding the AUX IN plug gets some rust on it. Otherwise fine.
