Question 2003 FLHT choke problems

Howdy folks! Since I am a younging at this and its my first HD I am curious what could cause my choke **** to continue to close on me when I try to start? Being in NOVA and Eastern Wv it is quite chilly, so my choke is a must in the morning, but when I pull it out and let go it slides right back in without a moments hesitation. I have to physically sit there and hold it open for a few minutes to get her warmed up enough to start moving. Of course I could take it into the local dealer and have them cut an arm or leg off, but I figured there is bound to be smarter people than I on here so I humbly request assistance from anyone who has a SWAG (Sophisticated Wild *** Guess) on the matter.

You should be able to tighten up the ring nut that holds it in the bracket.

Yes the "friction" is adjustable. Look at your manual and it will tell you how to do it. Very simple. In fact, you should just be able to look at the unit and see how it is done.
