Wow--I'm convinced! Mushroom head it is! Thanks for the feedback guys.
I wasn't so much thinking of someone stealing my gas, as I was thinking of my bike parked in a motel parking lot and some punkass kid coming along and dumping something in my tank.
Guess I worry too much.

I have the lockable myself, no biggie for me, I always pull my gloves off anyway when I gas up. I never thought of it before, but if I'm at a motel and the punka$$ kid comes along, he'll get your's since it's push button...
No major decision here, just lookin for a little feedback and the pros/cons from you guys that have these. I'm gonna replace the OE barrel key lock with something that I dont have to dig for a key every time I stop.
I like the looks of the simple pushbutton with no lock, but I also like the idea of being able to lock it to keep kids/vandals out. I realize that any barrel key will still unlock it, but it might turn away a simple curious kid if its locked.
So- the Harley smooth pushbutton with NO lock, or the Harley pushbutton that can still be locked when I want?
Pros/Cons?
I have the mushroom button and love it. Anyway, since the lock is completely useless (any barrel key or a sharp knife will open it), you might as well remove it.
Lockable push button works great on my07 Ultra and 05 classic (Sold) but different story on my wife's 08 Ultra but still beats digging for keys at the gas station.I like to lock em at overnight motel parking lots.I think if I sand down the latch on 08 it might help but never got around to do it .
I guess if its cheap enough to do. I never have a problem pulling my keys out of my pocket. Chances of some one messing your your fuel are pretty slim I think
