Even though the temp is only 49 I was itching to go for a short ride today, but it won't start. The bike has been on the battery tender but it wasn't enough keep the 6 year old battery charged enough to kick it over.
Time for a new one. Anyone replace theirs with anything besides buying one from the local dealership?
I just finished pulling the battery and there is no date on it. However it was new in the bike when I bought it in Oct '03.
I checked Harley's web site and they are asking $149 for a replacement and I'm not ready to pay that much without first checking other options. Looks like Deka is the way to go.
Thanks.

Mine is $129.95 with free shipping on orders over $50.00. May keep looking around as I better get one before I am in the same boat as you, maybe stranded somewhere.....
