Default Question

I own a 09 street glide, I recently changed my stock signals lens with harleys smoke lenes and chrome visor covers. After putting them on, I noticed a small spacing between the lens and chrome visor covers. My question is, if I'm caught in the rain while riding, will water get inside the housing and blow my bulbs? I also have the set up as running and brake lights. Would you recommend me using silicone to seal the spacing ... Smoke2115

Would NOT recomend silicone. Ive had T/S fill with water and no problems. Drained 4 bikes T/S's in a parking lot one run, ground looked like a fire hose was used.

Just coat the bulb base with dielectric grease and you'll have no problems.

I have seen some water in mine after I used a quarter car wash on it once. I try not to use the quarter car wash but when it get real nasty I do.

I just popped the lens off and got it out and never caused a problem like a blown bulb.

I really dont think they are designed to be waterproof. Just weatherproof.

Smile Chrome Wheels on 09 street glide

I own a 09 SG vivid blk. I'm considering having the factory rims chrome. Does anyone have their SG factory rims chromed out??? I really like the two tone chrome and black vs. the all chrome. If you know or have yours done, please send me ur pictures. Before I spend my last two nickels on them, I must know what it would look like......smoke2115

I don't think you have the chrome visor all the way on. I had the same problem when I put the visors on mine. Try putting the lens further in the visor and then put them on. Shouldn't have a gap.
