With snow outside, and riding not possible, I often find myself in front the flickering fireplace reminiscing of days in the past. Most of us here in the Touring Section have had a number of bikes prior to what we are now riding. I also know that we all love our current bike, but we often day dream about a getting a new one as well. Just wondering if anyone else ever misses one particular model that you used to have, and why? My '87 FXLR Willie G Anniversary Lowrider keeps dancing in my mind, and of all the bikes I've had, I really wish I'd have kept that one. I dumped a ton of $$ in it with paint, wheels, and a wide range of upgrades, but everywhere I went that bike turned heads with candle apple red paint, and soft ghost flames. It handled like a dream, and was quick through the gears with Andrews Cam, S&S Carb, and Pyton pipes. Just wondering if anyone else out there wants to share their old favorite.
Nothing quite like the first bike, and being out on your own with no transp. but the scoot. Good times for sure. And that 57 Glide sounds like quite the ride. That would probably go for a pretty penny now. Thanks for the input.
I know that this going to sound weird but I am now on my seventh bike and my first HD. I really miss and wish that I kept my...1965 (I think) Honda Cub 50. I paid $150.00 for it. Good god the times I had on that thing in High School. Never paid for gas. 150>200 mpg and I used to go to the closed gas stations at night and drain half dozen gas hoses and run it for another 3 or 4 days. Dam that was care free fun...

That's some good stuff right there. Haven't heard of doing that in a hundred years. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Geez, we thought we were the only ones that did that back in the day. Guess not.
Where o' where is my first street bike? I often wonder where my 1986 Honda Nighthawk "S" ended up. Black and red, 700cc inline 4, 5spd w/ od and a Kerker exhaust. That thing just "rocked"! I still remember the commercial with the guy riding down a nightclub strip at night and then taking off on a winding road.

Had an Ultra back in '09, sure do miss it, had a fun little sportster back in '08. See a pattern? I miss the previous bikes, but not as much as I miss the next one. Hope to keep the Softail a couple years, 'cuz this is an expensive adiction.
