I went with vinyl on two C&C seats and had no regrets.

So the front of the seat hooks up to that nipple thats expose behind the solo like in jb27's pic above? Just making sure here, this is alot of coin for me to spend after buying this bike.

Same for me. I purchased a corbin leather seat back in 1999 and had it on my king for 10 years before selling it last year because it would't fit on my new bike or I would have moved it there as well. It still looked very good after that many years so I would not hesitate getting another leather seat. If I eventually redo my current seat that has already been modified by MCC, then I might do it in leather with a pattern like Northwoods. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice or you wouldn't have a choice since nobody would be doing leather if they sucked, especially after spending more on them. You just have to keep them treated to stay soft, flexible and non-fading.

Gettin' in late here but a word of caution on stitching: If your fanny doesn't like textures it sure won't like stitching. It may not like the Mercedes either. Only you know what your fanny will put up with. If there is any doubt you might want to go with smooth leather or vinyl. Like others have said, leather breathes - vinyl doesn't. I use a sheepskin cover during the really hot weather - makes a hell of a difference.

question for you guys that have a vinyl C&C seat. I just got mine, squareback with charcoal flame stitching on mercedes VINYL. What care, if any do guys take? Specifically I am referring to any treatments you have used to protect from water while riding. Chuck said to not spray directly while washing. That's easy, but what happens when I'm on the road and it's raining whether riding or sitting still?
Great seat, with over 100 miles (put it on last night) it feels great. I love how it's put me down and back.
